Its quite some time, a month, since I last wrote in this blog. The career of a teacher really makes my life busy. Not only teaching in class during school hours as many people have thought, but there's a lot of other things to be taken care of. Not to mention x-tra classes in the afternoon, during weekend and co-curricular activities to be supervised and attended, there are files, letters, forms, paper works and all such things, and not to forget, the "online" tasks to be completed!
As the Head of English Language Panel, I have to check and revise all the exam questions for all forms prepared by other teachers and at the same time preparing my Muet exam papers. Next, besides sitting the Cambridge Placement Test myself and completing the PSELT (Pedagogical strategies for English Language Teacher) online, I have to monitor and make sure that all the English teachers doing their task, not to mention how much I spent on my phone bill to give step by step instructions on how to go with it! As I have expected, I will be the pioneer and then will be the source of information, since 90% of them are not familiar with internet application!
Apart from being the Head of Panel, as the Advisor of Prefect Board, I have to supervise the preparation for teacher's day celebration since Prefect Board was given the responsibility to organise Teacher's Day celebration for this year. Thanks God, it went perfectly well today. By the way, Happy Teacher's Day to all teachers.
In between, 2 classes (70 students) of F5 papers are waiting to be marked. Unfortunately, we are NOT ALLOWED to mark papers during invigilating the examinations! Whether like it or not, I have to sacrifice my bedtime. What a hectic weeks! Waiting next is to submit the marks online with such a slow server and much more, have to do it during off-peak hour, midnight for sure, or else the server even slower with the traffics! To add more, there is no internet access at school, so have to use our own broadband or internet service!
In conclusion, those who are planning to choose teaching as career as they think it will give them a lot of space, FORGET IT!
Despite of all those burden, I love teaching and I will continue teaching. Never come across my mind to hold the administrative position because I really enjoy teaching and mixing with students! HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY TO ME!
